About this dataset

The most granular open compilation of US residential property tax burdens: 51 states/DC + 3,132 counties + 10,058 cities (Census places with population ≥ 2,500), each with the effective property tax rate (median annual tax ÷ median home value), median tax paid, median home value and median household income. Compiled by the Calcuris Data Team. Headlines: New Jersey and Illinois carry the highest effective rates (1.88%), Hawaii the lowest (0.29%); New Jersey's median annual bill ($9,590) is more than 12× Alabama's ($788).
