Panel Data Methods

Panel data (longitudinal data) tracks the same units (individuals, firms, countries) across multiple time periods. The repeated observations allow researchers to control for unobserved time-invariant heterogeneity, which is the central advantage of panel methods over cross-sectional analysis.
